The San Pedro Sun is organizing a BEAT THE CLOCK campaign. We will arrange a "permit to gather" from the San Pedro police and are scheduling a demonstration at the clock site at noon on Monday, Oct. 31. Please bring posters, banners and whatever else it takes to get the point across that there are a dozen reasons WHY the community of San Pedro is against this town "improvement."

Sounds like a block party not to miss.. I may be new here to SP, but I'm all for not blocking current traffic, not putting up another bright eye-sore which will increase traffic delays instead of managing traffic (rubber-necker's reading ads while driving), cause traffic flow problems to emergency vehicles, and I'm community driven. I feel something like this should have been voted on. I do feel a town clock is nice to have, but shouldn't be donated by someone that already has it's name all over town, it should have been paid for by the community by means of fundraising, donations, and built with community in mind and not Ramon's.

I think everybody should email Ramons (info@ramons.com) and bombard them with threats that I/we will never stay there. I/We will never recommend that anyone stay there. I/We will never eat there, etc. etc.

I don't think that boycotting Ramons is a good idea honestly. Its a business that draws in tourists and tourists is what SP thrives on. I do think that as a community, we should somehow figure out a way to get our voices heard for events and "improvements" such as this before it happens.

There are plenty of other great hotels to stay at. Hotels that have owners who respect San Pedro and don't push their ideals on the public and try to buy it off peice by peice.
