Big ol' wood house on the beach where Banyan Bay now sits....always covered with laundry drying and smells of food cooking...Helen never stopped...

Good one! It captures the clear water feel of our Cayes.

Hey Ernie - I think you are referring to the wonderful old Barrier Reef Hotel - formerly the Blake House, built in 1917 (or was it 1907).
Sigh.

Red-Rump, Ambergris Caye has them as well as the mainland Belize. Very interesting spiders they live a very long time, about 20 years I'm told.
I don't like spiders but I like these guys. They have intelligence, move fast and see well, probably how they manage to live long! Racoons and Coatimundi eat them so they have to see well and move fast to survive. They live in a hole in the ground , sort of a burrow and if its a good location they will keep it for generations.

The little thatch shack on the left side of Elbert's "estate" was our first home on the island. Jim Wade's place was the site of our first Christmas here --- Elbert was there, also Tulu and some BDF guys if I recall .......

Great picture of Tulu.. yes, he is a favorite of many people, whose experience of Belize has been enhanced by his guidance. Nothing beats a day on the water (or off) spent with Tulu and friends.

Tulu was the first guide we ever hired in San Pedro. Hired him at the old beach bar at Coconuts years ago. He is still a great friend that we see every year when we are down.

Tulu is one of the reasons I returned to San Pedro so many times and why I went to Placencia for a week after he moved! What he actually always told me was "No worries, there is more time in life" He is a great guy. smile

I've already told you more than I know.
