Chuck, I am very worried about Marie and Armando Escalon who are the caretakers at Casa Gonzo on Ambergris Caye. The house is about 2 miles south of the airstrip. The local phone number is 501-26-3716.

They took me to the airport in San Pedro Saturday, but stayed on the island because at that point no one had any idea the storm was going to be so fierce.

Chuck, Are you able to send or receive any messages to Ambergris Caye? Our daughter & family live there. Dawn & Mike O'Connor & 7 children. We haven't heard from them since 5am Sun morning! The radio tower behind the Belize Yacht Club belongs to our small group from here in San Diego, CA. Hams may have heard us on over the last 8 years as V31DX. I just talked to one of our group, Vic KI6IM. If communications does not improve in the next 24 hours he will try to fly down. We have a transceiver which can run on battery power down there now. Vic will bring another. Hopefully, our tower and antennas survived. If not, Vic will get something going. I will try to join him late in the week.
