My condo is not at Bermuda Landing - It is Bermuda Palms - but that is a mute point.
B. Land, B. Beach, B. Palms, Kama Lounge and the Cloisters were all filled at the same time behind one long sea wall. This was dredged and filled with sand from the sea and I think is pretty compacted. Each of the Bermuda buildings are engineered with the entire building on cisterns. Chris Barenfanger explained to me that this makes each building like a ship and would actually float.
On the other hand Reef Village was filled with mud from the lagoon and I don't know if you can compact wet mud and I don't think they have cisterns under them. But heck - I could be wrong.
Also the fill for RV is above the level of the road and there was no allowance for run off. Then, everytime it was graded the road was lowered some more.
I feel very sorry for the owners of RV as they, like me, did not know from whence came their dirt. (ha ha ha)
I have been told that today the 'lake' is filled in and every one can drive across. How many BIG loaded trucks will it take to destroy it.

We just got back from riding our bikes to town and the road is MUCH improved from our trip down it on a golf cart Wed. night. It had very obviously been graded and the many moguls smoothed out. Wonderful! Since we rode on the beach most of the way, we didn't go into the "great lakes" area, but it is good to hear that that has been dealt with at well. From where we merged onto the road at about the middle of Reef Village to the bridge is smooth as silk compared to a few nights ago.

Don't know how long it will last, but my butt sure appreciated it today! grin

Bottom line.......I think the NACNW should take a lesson from the SACNW......they seem to have it all together.....from decent roads to good security......JMHO

The big holes are being filled and more material is being trucked in. They just dropped off 6 culverts in front of my place

Thank you Mayor Danny and Town Council.

No. The barges of hardcore fill and tractors spreading it only improved to just a little South of Las Terrazas then stopped.
Currently, with the recent rains its foolish to try and go North of YWAM (The old Journeys End property). On the map above that would be about Punta Arena.
I saw two abandoned golf carts in the road this morning hard to imagine people renting carts to folks wanting to go North but they do!

Has anyone run a grader behind Portofino and is it underwater behind MataChica,or is it passable in a golf cart if you go really slow.
