We have gone budget at the Conch Shell Hotel since 1989. Clean Family run small hotel on the beach, ten steps from Amigos Del Mar Dive Shop. Get a room with a fridge and save money on snacks and beverages. We like the upstairs porch.

Many mainland Belizeans go to San Pedro for the holidays - so rooms book up fast in this price range.

There are a few places that advertise packages. The accommodations that come with Gaz's package looked very nice but I just rode bike through there.

Call almost any accommodation and they will have business arrangements with scuba operators that bring down the price. I did not pre-arrange any scuba and still dove 2 tank dives for $50 included rented BC/reg by to having my resort call for my first dive.

I'll be in AC for xmas - I dive but my husband does not, but will snorkel. What's a good trip to take together? I want to do the Blue Hole, but is there anything for him to do there?

This is our first trip there and just cannot wait! We've been talking about it for so long......

Do you think we will be ok at year end without a/c? We are considering using the Conch Shell. Is it safe and clean so we do not have to worry about our diving equip. being stolen? Also, there are four of us, do you know how the rooms will be set up?

Conch Shell hotel has been sold and no one has been able to get ahold of the new owners for rates, availability, or reservations. I had a previous employee call me for a job the other day and I asked her if there was any way to get in touch with the new owners and she said they were probably going to re-open in the future but she had no idea when and she didn't know how to get in touch with them. They do not answer their phone or their emails. If any of you are getting through to them I would appreciate you letting me know. I have been driving down there and nobody is ever there.
