I wonder at what point the length of flight requires that the aircraft be outfitted with toilets?

Also very curious as to price point on these TA flights. A ticket to Cancun from the West Coast is one heckuva lot less expensive than a flight to Houston and onto Belize. Depending on pricd point and scheduling this could have a significant impact on the cost and time of getting home to the Caye from the States. It would be great if the Tropic flights meshed reasonably well with an arrival at Cancun so it could still be done in a day. As it is now we leave at 2am to catch an flight to Houston and on to BC arriving home by late afternoon. All of which makes for a long day. Looking forward to another travel option.

I am pretty sure the flight time for CUN will be twice as long as the flights to Flores or San Pedro Sula. At least in a Caravan.

1.5 hr flt with the Caravan.

If the route proves sustainable, Tropic will replace the Caravan with a much faster acft. on the international routes.

If they fly from Cancun , direct to San Pedro with the Caravans, they would fill the plane every time. Many international flights go to Cancun as a hub,for much lower fares.Direct , same day flights to # 1 destination in Belize would be very successful. I'd us it!

We took a Tropic Air flight from Cancun to Belize City in Jan. 2011 when we were too tired to take the bus after some long travel delays. It was very expensive - over $200 US pp one way.

We're both certain it was Tropic... Is this something they tried before and are now bringing back? Anybody else out there who remembers doing this flight in the past?

Why not? We have customs and immigration right beside Tropic.

I think having the flight come through SP is the only way it will work. No way I will pay $100 USD to go to International and then $200USD or more to go to cancun. No matter how much time it saves.

I am sure TA has some ideas in this regard.

And you can clear customs when you arrive on the waterjet via Chet.. just saying.
PS Can't wait to hear the details on flight times and fares. cool
