Anti-virus computer software king John McAfee is a "person of interest" in regards to the murder of his neighbor, Greg Faull. McAfee called San Pedro Sun editor Tamara Sniffin from hiding to tell his side of the story. The shooting apparently took place just south of McAfee's compound in Faull's home just north of San Pedro town on the Island of Ambergris Caye in Northern Belize, Central America.

But this week it is the scene of a domestic disturbance between two American expats, that has left one man, Gregory Faull, dead in his beachfront island home. Police in Belize have made local island resident, and combative neighbor, John McAfee (of McAfee Anti-Virus fame), the prime suspect and person of interest in the murder investigation. Mr. McAfee has gone on record as accusing the Belize police of trying to frame him for the murder, contending that they are out to get him and would sooner kill him than apprehend him for questioning. McAfee lives in a world filled with designer psycho-active drugs, heavily armed militia for his personal security force, and a bevy of young women to satisfy his sexual appetite. The Belize that McAfee lives in, the Belize of his world, is not the Belize that I have come to love and that I call home. I live on the island of Ambergris Caye, Belize and have one so for 7 years. I have fallen in love with the people of Belize, with the island and its culture, and with all its quirks and idiosyncracies. Mr. McAfee does not live in my world. He does not live in my Belize. I live in Belize by choice, as a guest in a foreign land. So does Mr. McAfee. If he feels that the government, the police force, and the Belize military are out to get him. I suggest that he lay off the bath salts and freely leave the country that has graciously allowed him to live as a resident for the last 4 years.
A man has been murdered, and his family members as well as our whole community are left to grieve in sorrow. We have a tremendous expat community on Ambergris Caye, one that is grieving over the loss of one of its own, and one that is sickened and disgusted by one man's insistence to drag the rest of the community into his perverted version of reality. I am not judging either guilt or innocence. Belize has a sound legal system baed on British Common Law for that.
The story has gone viral, and the whole world is waiting and watching to see what comes of developments in the murder investigation and the search and apprehension of John McAfee, of McAfee Anti-Virus infamy. This video is intended to show where the crime took place. Many clients, friends and colleagues have emailed from around the world to ask where these two neighbors lived, how close of proximity and what kind of setting or community they were part of. This video helps to answer those questions. But more importantly, it tells the real story. That there are two Belize's. The one that lives in McAfees delusional frame of mind, and the Belize that brought my wife and I here seven years ago to raise our three children. Millionaire and antivirus software mogul John McAfee, who has been residing in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye for some time now, is wanted by the local police for questioning due to circumstantial evidence. He is not wanted for murder, only for questioning as a person of interest, among others. McAfee was a neighbor with the US national who was murdered and he had an argument with him. What is making the news even more sensational is the fact the McAfee is hiding and through US media contacts has commented that he does not want to be caught by the Belize police force because he fears for his life. Mayor Daniel Guerrero says that his office telephone line has been ringing off the hook with calls from major and small international media houses that include the United States, Mexico and Canada. The Mayor says that everybody wants an update on the murder case and to know if there is any further connection of McAfee to the case. According to the Mayor all he can say, is what he and everybody else know and that is that the case is still under investigation.

Admittingly he looks a little crazy but lets look at the facts
His compound WAS raided in Orange Walk by GSU BDF and Police, his dog WAS shot dead by the Cops, he WAS detained for 14 hours and treated rather unfairly by the cops, and I think, correct me if I am wrong, he was charged with NOTHING and was subsequently released after that ordeal after they found nothing,no drugs I believe the guns were licensed apart from one which the license was shown at a later time.
I think I might be a bit Paranoid also if I had to endure that when they ultimately found nothing if they had found drugs etc he would be in jail already but that is not the case.
Now it does not help him, that he surrounds himself with questionable characters but that does not make him a murderer, it certainly does not help him that he is a bad neibour but that again does not make him a murderer
The fact that he has no trust in the Police is not surprising if we are honest here, did they not rob a local chap early in the morning of his expensive shoes (did we all forget that) and it was caught on CCTV showing 2 cops robbing the guy ??? so come on lets not all pretend that its all rosy, it is not we have big issues with the cops and anyone that says different is lying.
John McAfee is an eccentric who is a little weird to many people but again it does not make him a Murderer, he may truly believe that the cops will treat him just as bad as they did when they raided his orange Walk compound because he has first hand experience of being treated that way.
I personally think he should come in NOW especially now the eyes of the world on on him, but I hold back from calling him a Murderer because HE IS STILL INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY AND THE TRUTH IS THERE IS NO EVIDENCE AGAINST HIM AT ALL RIGHT NOW.
I'm not crucifying. I just think it looks very bad...why did he make that big donation to a police force that is out to kill him? Why is he calling in to the media all day long?
If you are not guilty (and he might be not guilty), this is not a normal way to act.
I agree but we have not had our home decended on by 40 Swat style troops in the dead of night that bashed down your front door, M16 rifles at the ready, then shoot your dog, then put you in handcuffs while they trash your house and go through everything only to find nothing, treat you badly and take you to a skanky cell (have you seen the cells) and detain you for 14 hours and then after all that they release you without any charges. (Pretty Horrific experience if you ask me)
I think he has some valid points, I really do, especially prior to the media being involved, and if you look at the way this is panning out (JUST LOOK AT THE THREAD HEADLINE) he is being hammered for being an eccentric and the press and forums are saying and implying he is wanted for murder and that is just not true is it.
He is not doing himself any favors but in his defense non of us have had the pleasure of meeting the GSU in the dead of night either.
Prior to his OW compound being raided he had spent tons of money on a NEW police station there that he wanted to donate that was before the raid, there is more to this than any of us know.
He is doing it because it is all fun. It feeds his narcissistic personality disorder. He is having a grande old time with all the attention seeing himself as bigger than life. He has been a joke for a long time but because he is also paranoid and arrogant, he is now dangerous. He died his hair black and now looks like a hood, oh please! He has been dying his hair for a long time to look like a stud. Give me a break!
You obviously have a disdain for the guy Pam because, maybe he has young girlfriends, dyes his hair to look like a stud, or you just don't like his personality, BUT that still does not change the FACT that he has done nothing wrong , is NOT ACCUSED OF MURDER, and there is no proof of anything at this point.
Your comment he is dangerous is another fabrication simply because you don't like him or the way he lives, but again there is no evidence whatsoever to back your accusation, as there is no evidence of him being involved in any crime at all at this point.
