Common phrase here: "Will you borrow me $10?"
Same Idiosyncrasy as open a speech with "Good Night."

Well I would think there is some issue here since they were just staying at McAfee's home and the guns were in HIS home so how are they charging someone that was staying there.

I would of thought that the home owner would be the one in trouble not people actually staying at the home.

Check the new gun laws Gaz. If you are in a vehicle and there is an unlicensed gun under the seat every person in the car is charged for the offence. You can no longer claim "I didn't know it was there" or "it's not my car". They are interpreting the law on a wider scale in this case. The unlicensed guns were in the home and the individuals were in the home therefore they get charged.

So instead of a fine for the offense there is actual jail time?

It's a non-bailable offense until you go up before the Supreme Court. The timing of that all depends on how well connected you are or how much money you have for a high priced lawyer.

So I am in a cab as a passenger that gets pulled over by the police and they discover an unlicensed firearm or ammunition. I go to jail and it is a non-bailable offense?

The guy has been asked to come in for questioning because he has the means (9mm handgun) the opportunity and the motive required by the police to make him a suspect. Instead of coming in or reporting to the American consulate where he could be questioned without fear of incarceration, he goes on the run leaving his dogs to die and his friends to fend for themselves. If he was truly innocent he could jump the Guatemalan border and report to that consulate. so the question is why won't he stand for questioning? He has 2 opportunities to be questioned without Belizean police authority. Why won't he do it?
