OK. So I just got back from an appointment with the dermatologist and have found out what it takes to cure this. I have to take 3 chewable tablets twice a day that make me throw up and get dizzy for the next five days. Even worse? They don't have the meds in Colorado so they had to order it from Central America. Not a pleasant thing.
The picture shown in the thread above is totally infected and the infection really doesn't look that bad! I also found out from my doc that this parasite is common mainly in central and S. America.

After 10 years in BZ, I've had 2. I killed the 1st with Windex! They hate amonia.... The second wouldn't go so I put a cigarette out on his head. Done deal. And I'll still go Barefoot here! I'm just not good with shoes. If you smell my feet after I wear them you'll know why. (H)

like i said go down to the nearest drugstore and buy some headlice medicine. Apply to the skin and that's it. Or try Barefoot skinnies version. all this rubbish about tablets that make you vomit and not available in the US - how seedily melodramatic if there is such a thing.

I don't understand??? This isn't just a skin infection, according to the medical literature I have read. It gets in your bloodstread, goes to your lungs, you cough and swallow, they are in your GI tract, and you get diarrhea. So how can just using a topical get rid of it?

Where's a doctor when we need one? [Linked Image]

Hello! I am a girl from Iowa that just got back from Ambergris and when i woke up this morning discovered that my foot had some bubbly spots on it, so i went to the doctor and yes it was this worm infection. (Hookworm) I have to take meds. 2 times a day for 3 days then it is just suppost to go away. The doctor said it can just get in through your skin and then burro its way to the bloodstream, to the heart and then finally to the intestins. (Pretty Nasty!!) So please be VERY careful down there, it dosent start to show up for 7 to 10 days until after contact. So if you dont want to get this i would wear your shoes!! but even though you have on sandles doesent mean you cant get it because it can get caught between the Sandle and Your Foot. So please be careful!!!
