When we bought our condo here not even taxis were allowed across the bridge -- and that was only in 2010, not a decade ago!

Yes. Just go slowly through the rocky Reef Village area. Once you get past that, it is much smoother. You'll still want to drive slowly to avoid the "invisible" potholes I "locate" frequently with my bike (owwww!) It's in much, much better shape than before the grading, though. smile

The more developements built north of the bridge the greater the traffic flow will get, This only really affects those going to live there. Theres two factors to consider, the road isnt a road its a sandy stony track and the bridge has a 'lifespan' the more and larger the loads its taking the sooner its going to fail.
All this really has nothing to do with me, im not going to live over the bridge. So its down to the 3 billy goats and the troll living under the bridge to see this threo !!!!

Currently, the road for the most part, is in pretty good shape. It looks as though they are widening some parts to 8 lanes(not sure it really needs to be wider). Here is a question I would love to know the answer to. Why is it that the road from the White Sands turn to just past Captain Morgan's is always crappy?

Early Tuesday morning we heard beep beep beep beep beep - bulldozer backing up preparing to take out my front yard. Robert hopped in the golf cart to get a bunch of workers and I called the SPTB. I was told they were not supposed to come this far as we had not received the written posted notice. The left hand seems to never know what the right hand is doing.
The Bulldozer guy gave us a half day to get our work done. My crew went to work taking my rock wall apart and digging up the plants. The Flamboyant Tree I started from a cutting five years or more ago and bloomed for the first time this year. It is a beautiful red. Robert cut it back to the two BIG main trunks and the bulldozer took one big bite and lifted it from the ground.
He had kindly dug a hole for it to go right into and Robert soaked it good. Please visualize it growing.
The 'easement' is now 25' wide and the grader made many runs up and down today.
Just wait until you see what they have done to the Maya House!
Lisa - Ersel was here and said he would send you pictures.
Three of my men worked all day today over there saving the fences and plants.

Harriette, I am glad you posted -- I did a blog post about this very thing today. Did they tell you WHY?

I can't believe what they've done to those properties. I can't even imagine the necessity for such nonsensical wideness...
