Belize Electricity Limited advises its customers in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye that the supply of electricity will be temporarily interrupted from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2013.

Areas to be affected: the entire portion of the island North of Boca del Rio.

BEL apologizes for the inconvenience caused but this scheduled power interruption is necessary for the Company to replace the Boca del Rio transformer and repair hot spots/rectify hazards on the distribution system.

Gotta love this thread...first, I read that a power outage was scheduled to occur the day we arrived (Nov 22). So, I figure we missed it. Oops! Not really. It happened Thanksgiving day up north (where I was this trip). I brought family for Thanksgiving! Yay! Our toilet doesn't flush today so...ummmm...are there buckets?

Power came back on at 4pm - little later.
Luckily we have a generator that runs the whole resort.
The plan for BEL is to get better and more reliable.

Power interruption 6:00am to 8:00am Tuesday, December 17, San Pedro Town: the portion of the island from Pescador Drive to San Pedritro Area. BEL to repair hazards on the distribution system.

outage island-wide started about 6:30 am - called BEL and was advised that it will be back on in a few minutes. not quite happening yet - glad to have a generator.

Areas to be affected: Coconut Drive and Beach Front. Two 20-minute power interruptions from 8:00am to 8:20am and from 2:40pm to 3:00pm will affect the entire Southern portion of the island.
