Unless property owners were FORCED to tie into water/sewer, I can't imagine many (any?) properties owners up north would elect to... everyone has already made the (considerable) investment in septic systems, R/O systems, etc. Not to mention the fact that there's a SIGNIFICANT span/distance that many properties would have to cover to tie into services if they are running under the "road." You're talking 600, 700, 1000+ feet in some places. Why would a property owner want to incur that expense??? What's the upside??? It seems the town has a hard enough time maintaing these services IN town, let alone 5 miles north. This WILL BE a colossal waste of $$$, time and effort. Imagine if the entirety of the funds for this project were allocated to simply making a PROPER road??? We'd have the autobahn back there.
