The tombstone styled markers left all over town by the UDP and Mayor Elsa Paz to memorialize the parties accomplishments have faded and are unreadable now. All we have is what we can remember.
I remember only one quote from her because it was the one that had the ring of truth..." If those rich gringos up North want a road they can build it themselves".

I find it interesting that Chris Barenfanger built two strips of concrete along his property that have lasted for years.

Remember? Before he finished what he had planned one of the BIG trucks purposely drove over one of the still wet tracks and smashed it in. That is why one is shorter than the other.

Just think - What if we could build strips like this along each side for golf carts ONLY and make the trucks drive in their own muck in the middle? Any truck seen with a wheel on the cement could be banished from the north.

I think the north should rise up!

RE: Elbert's comment above...

The gringos/homeowners/biz owners (obviously) DID built it themselves...

But you know what... I don't really feel like building it AGAIN.

Why bother... I mean I got a boat... heck, I got a couple boats. I can get to town easy enough. And besides, I CAN get to my own place on a cart, just not past it. So I don't think I'm gonna fix the road... maybe I'll go fishing instead, or read a book or something. If by some miracle it dries out and looks like the "road" is becoming passable, heck, maybe I'll plant some trees across it. Some trees might look nice back there and I got all those palms that need to go in the ground somewhere... Or maybe I'll put our burn pit there... come to think of it, that would be a great place for it... been meaning to get rid of all those clipping and leaves and dried palm fronds that have accumulated. If it stays clear and it's dry enough to burn, yeah, that's where it's going.

So no more road.

Now that sure was easy, wasn't it...

What a relief!!!

It's SO much easier to just have a "yard" rather than a "road"... what a load off my mind!!!

Doing "nothing" is a piece of cake! Who knew???!!! I mean I was really worried, as I was staring down a long list of things not to do, but I've already got them all not done!!!

Easy!!!
