GOOD NEWS:I Just received this by e-mail from Jan, Daniel's Cousin:
Mike: Daniel's mother, in New Orleans, received a phone call this morning from Mary H's mother. Mary had called from a shelter on a cell phone and said she, Daniel and Bud were all okay. I can only assume the Campbell's are in the same shelter. No mention of the property damage, but that's okay. Main concern was for everyone's well being, after a major life threatening experience. Take care, Jan/NYC

Just to let everyone know that Lori Purdy called her sister from a cell phone, from a roof top and she is fine. Our boat and house are gone.
Thanks to everyone that helped to get some information to this side of the world.

Chris B. talked to our son and Brown's in Iowa this am. briefly. Had found somewhere with a generator to charge his phone battery. He is to call back this afternoon after accessing things further and has phone charged up. Elma's and Mike Smith's houses severely damaged. Luepke, Brown's basically ok. Lupke boat out front ok. Our boat house in back gone--Brown's under roof somewhere and ours upside down in Chris'yard. Mike Sherman, have you heard anything on your house yet? Chris didn't mention it when talking to Brown's, so we hope no news, is good news in this case. Will be sure and ask when we talk to him. In e-mail from other friends--Paul Steven's daughter had relayed that their house and Sweet Basil had weathered with minimal damage. Had generator running. Their boat out front ok, one at boat yard in town was on runway. Rum Punch boat in their front yard. Streets on backside of town basically gone. Sounds like will be quite sometime before had elec. and if planning to go down will need to camp out. We are anxiously waiting to have a good conversation with Chris, so can ask all the many questions. Will keep you all posted. Phyllis and Stan

I just wanted to say thank you two for this thread. It has been the only source of information I have been able to get about Tres Cocos. If there is any way in which I can Help, please let me know. Stan and Phiylis I hope to buy you each a Belikin and shake your hands when this is all finished.

Here's some GOOD news. Double Ditto on those Belikins!!
8:00 am (west coast). GOOD NEWS! Here's the latest I've heard from Tres Cocos and about friends Doug and Ali Campbell. Just got a call from Ali's Mom, Natalie, in Seaside, Oregon. She heard from Cris Berlin about 6:30 am (west coast). He reported that Doug anf Ali and Kitty Kitty were fine!!! Then at 7:30am, Natalie got a call from ALI who was able to get through on Bonsai's (Beto) cell phone. She related that Doug, Ali, Beto, and Kitty all weathered the storm at Campbell's house. Beto was going to spend that first night at our (Sherman's) house to keep an eye on the place but the storm came up too fast, so he stayed with Campbells. Ali said that their home is intact but palm leaning on it, McCleans home needs repair to roof, Sherman's home had damage to Bodega and back area of home. FAR better report than I expected! Ali says she expects no power for 6 months and that it is really difficult to get around in tres cocos due to debris everywhere. Doug's little boat operational, and they are able to get fresh water from the cisterns. Ali says they could use a crank radio; Cris wants Cigarettes! I told Ali's mom to tell Ali to please get a list of specifics they need there and that I'm prepared to gather stuff and head down as soon as they advise it is practical. Will post more as I hear it.

Any more word about Lori Purdy I have been sitting here waiting for some positive word but nothing seems to come. This is awful from Europe, Lori's two cats don't seem offer much support in all this. And the Czech's just look at you strange when you say "devastating hurricane"
Has anyone heard anything from Bob C'Debacca, he was working to complete our house which is no more at this point.
I heard from Lori through her sister yesterday, but nothing since.
