Bot flies and Mosquitos are separate insect species. I know a couple of people who got fly bites but the had spent time in the jungle. Mosquitos are rarely a problem but for those they bother, the usual stuff works fine.

It's my understanding that Bot Fly eggs (or maybe the larvae?) can be deposited on humans by other types of flies, including mosquitoes.
