I think it would be good to incorporate the Ferry fee as another yearly Sticker or as part of one of the other vehicle stickers. It would stop the bottle neck at the foot of the bridge and save costs not requiring a collector and police/traffic who could certainly be utilised better elsewhere.

But a yearly sticker wouldn't eradicate tourists travelling north of the bridge. So all rental carts would have to have the bridge stickers. Stickers in themselves though wouldn't prevent non payers from crossing the bridge if it were not supervised.
Delays when they occur are not that onerous though. What's a few minutes out of anyone's day. There are much bigger things to get 'stressed' over.

The old ferry was 'cool'. But that was when the population north of the bridge was minuscule in comparison to what it is now (and will grow to). You'd need a fleet of ferries to attempt to cope. And they'd fail. Or if they succeeded boats entering /leaving the Caribbean would be queued up waiting for the opportunity to head west/east.

The sticker idea was more about freeing personnel for other duties than the bottleneck.

Can you imagine what the bottleneck would be like if the means of crossing reverted to a hand ferry.

To spell it out for you Robert. It costs the same as it did twenty years ago to cross the bridge, it's open 24hrs a day and free for about ten, you never have to wait, it's unlikely your cart will get dumped in the water. Oh did I mention it costs the same. The End.

When the bridge was opened the cost to cross it for a golf cart was BZ$5. Nine years to 2015 and the cost to cross the bridge is BZ$5. What else has remained at the same price? I'd say the cost has effectively gone down.

New road... New bridge... Same price as "joke" ferry... What a deal... I'm a happy camper.

A little known fact... Women who are overweight tend to live longer than men who mention it...

Robert J : Why would you say it serves us right having a golf cart, and living North? Not understanding the ugliness to that comment.... Is this a problem for you?
