You are showing your prejudice and reluctance to accept the constitutional rights of all and the legal principal of "innocent until proven guilty". Fortunately Belize is not.

Consider the fact of rights for "all" or "white Americans" living in Belize?

I just read about the same execution in Yemen in the NYT this morning and thought the same, although it appears the man was tried and convicted by the Houthis. I agree, I love due process even for those I don't like at all.

For being accused of MURDER, I sure would have thought that the bail should have been 10X's the amount, Being that their court date is not until 2018, bail should have been given, but it was not nearly enough! If they could not have met it, oh well, at least it was offered......just my opinion. Turning this into a racist issue is irrelevant !!

They have not been charged with murder sadly, only cruelty to a child. Police are still screwing around and not charging them, no one knows what they are waiting for.

Maybe for a solid enough to case to stick so it won't get thrown out as usual?

Question ...... what is the goal here? I think when the emotions die down the goal of the courts and law enforcement should be to take bad guys out of circulation. Ten years in Hattieville is a good start and meanwhile they are on ice while other investigations continue.

Yes, charged with cruelty to a child officially, but "accused" of murder as we all know- but for the time being I guess that's all the courts could come up with, and again, the bail should have been so much, higher, I just wish that's what the judge would have done- I agree with you Diane, at least with a possible non-attainable bail - they would have had to wait for their trial in prison, instead, they're in a community where they are understandably not wanted

Not siding with them but according to the law they are innocent until proven guilty. They should be put away for a long time just on cruelty to a child.
