Taco Fly Co. Epidsode 11 - Belize About It In this episode, Taco Fly Co. joins Eeland Stribling, William O'Neal, Jesse Flinck, and Andrew Broestl in Ambergis Caye, Belize to learn how to fish the flats.
We DIY using golf carts and our own eyes off the coast to spot bonefish and hopefully any other creatures who live on the flats. Then we head over to Cayo France Farm & Fly to chase fish on the flats using paddle boards.
What a great trip. Thank you Redington for the rad gear and Brown Folks Fishing for the support. Special thanks to Jesse and Eeland for making this trip possible.

Belize is the type of place that I am always longing to get back to.
This trip was exceptionally rad as I got to enjoy it with some true friends friends of mine, @captain_brody_males , @_tomcatt_ , @macelliottmedia, @garets_flyfishing , and my dude Wayne!
Bonefish, permit, and baby tarpon all made it to hand during an epic week of DIY fly fishing via SUP boards and wading productive flats around the lodge.
Needless to say my friends Jeff, Marvin, and Andres at @belizeflyfishcamp did a great job as always and made us all feel right at home the moment we arrived.
Needless to say I will be hosting a trip next year as well! Be sure to shoot me a DM if you would like to come along!

What You Need for Fly Fishing in Belize If you've heard much about destination saltwater fly fishing, there's no doubt you've heard of Turneffe Flats. Located 30 miles off the coast of Belize, the legendary location is located on the Turneffe Atoll - the largest of only four coral reefs situated in the western hemisphere. Here, anglers can find a sprawling saltwater playground and a tropical vacation experience unlike anywhere else in the world.
One of the best things about a saltwater fly fishing trip to Turneffe Flats is the wide variety of species in the area. Turneffe is one of those rare places in the world where anglers can go after a "Grand Slam", which means catching a bonefish, permit, AND a tarpon on the same trip. Additionally, anglers might stumble into triggerfish, snapper, sharks, and more. When your line goes tight in a saltwater destination like this, there's no telling exactly what is on the other end.
In this video, Anglers All's GM Jimmy Juliana takes us through his gear list and considerations when planning a destination fly fishing trip to Turneffe Flats, plus what you can expect on your Belizean adventure.

The Hunt For GIANT PERMIT in Belize! This is the story of my wild journey to Belize. My goal of this trip was to land a Giant Permit, or "Silver Ghost" as our Guide Gordy called them. I went on this trip thanks to Orvis paying all expenses, I couldn't afford something quite like this yet. (Need a few more subscribers haha) I got paired with the Fishing Manager in a Orvis Store in Louisiana, I had never met him or spoke with him before our trip. Matt Brooks was his name and he was an absolute amazing roommate. On the boat it was very high stress and Gordy was pushing us to our limits, for 72 hours straight. We saw lots of bonefish, got to stick and jump a tarpon and then we endlessly stalked the silver ghost just hoping to take it on a dance. Thank you Matt for filming the epic ending of this film!!! Hope you enjoy watching, it took so much time and effort to get this entire thing put together.
This was a solo trip, I filmed and traveled completely alone, with some assistance on the boat from Matt Brooks.
