Hi everyone
Though I've been reading the board a long time, I'm a pretty new member.
I'll be in Belize April 28-May 9 on my honeymoon, staying at Victoria House May 4-9 (Maruba Resort the first half of the trip).
It would be cool to meet some of you guys! We're first-timers to Belize and it would be good to get the low-down on where to party, where to eat, etc!
I doubt you'll remember, but I'll try to describe us --
Damian (my soon-to-be hubby) is average height with red hair and I'm 5'3" with blond hair! We're both 26 years old. Come over and say hi if you think you've spotted us!!!!! We'll be sure to be out and about most of the time -- scuba diving by day and DANCING by night in particular -- trying to make the most of each minute we're in Belize!
If we don't see any of you, I hope you all have a great time!

River Shark - I will look for you and your wife at the DFW airport. If we miss each other there, I will be at Jet's bar in the BC airport if time allows before my flight to AC. The first rum punch has to be at Jets!
The Caye Caulker trip is something I plan on doing, along with several other tours. I stayed on Caulker for the first 5 days of my trip last year and loved it! I can't wait for lunch at Rasta Pasta! Maybe we can pick a day once we are on the island and get a group together.
I am a non-diver (but fanatical snorkeler) and planning on lots of beach/lounge chair time also.
Looking forward to meeting you both cool

Islenutt,
We are booked on Mayan Air thru Hustler for our flight to AC and they are suppose to pick us up at the airstrip.
Hope they put it down on dry land instead of in the water like the one a few months ago.

In 2001 we flew on Chalks to Bimini from Ft Lauderdale in a Gruman Mallard left over from WWII - it was really cool. It is an amphibious plane that lands and takes off from the water - really, really cool. I think it was an 18-seater, so it is probably a little bigger than these puddle jumpers.
And what the Hell, even if they put it down in the lagoon, we can always pull out our gear and snorkel to the island.

River Shark - I have flown Mayan and Tropic several times and felt very comfortable and safe on both. But I will pack my snorkel gear in my daypack!
The flight to AC is soooo cool. You can actually see fish in the water.
The look on my daughters face when she saw the 4 seater that took us to Caye Caulker was priceless! She sat next to the pilot and within 30 seconds was trying to hang out the window for a better view and yelling back to me to look at everything...

Hey,
We will be there from Texas May 8 -15, staying at Banana Beach. My husband and I and my 29 yr old brother-in-law who is a dentist. He will need some single women to run around with!!!! Already booked fishing trips for two days for the boys and the rest is up in the air. Guess I will sit around and drink some beverages!!!!

Can we come and play with the rest of you that are there at the same time????

Sure thing Texas! One of our group is a single gal from Austin right around that age and the rest of our little group is a mix of singles and couples from GA, NY, MO... I am sure you'll run into us in the Banana Beach bar or at the Squirrels next (on the beach right next door). We are all staying at Banana Beach May 3-13th. My boyfriend is from Houston too and talks to everyone so we are bound to run into you guys as we met most of the hotel last year!

So many more people for May we are going to need a new list!

Seaislegal - I laughed out loud picturing your boyfriend falling off the ferry! Maybe you should bring bungee cords this year!
Very funny story...

Last week on the Travel Channel they had a show "Exotic Islands", which featured Belize.

We missed it too - BUT - it is going to air agian.

"Wrap up the babies and grab the old ladies".

Mark your calanders and set your VCRs for April 29, at 2:30 Eastern (1:30 for us Okies).

With this being just a couple of days before we head for AC the timing couldnt be better. We are very excited about the trip and this show will help put the icing on the cake.

I'll make a new post so others will see this.
