Blatant plug for Chris and Jen Eager, of the air-strip Eagers. Take a taxi or cart down to San Pablo and taste what I'm raving about.

I miss y'all like a mother.

Beachy, do I have your attention now?

monkey!!!
a "pome":
Married monkeys in a tree,
Shivering cold in St. Louie
Summer come soon and warm them up
Steph is Jimbo's buttercup
Fallen stars all in her hair
honeymoon night tiny underwear
That's just Jim, don't get me started
What's that smell?
Oh, Jim, who _____?!!?

Beachy miss his monkey pals

Jim's not home to
make his Monkey happy!
Monkey loves the Pome,
Beachy's so snappy!
Monkey needs her bath,
as her hair is nappy.
She's wishing for a swim
but the weather's so crappy.

"That's not a beach!
That's a bog!"
Cries Stephanie
and her little dog.

April showers
bring us May flowers
but I wish for the beach
with all my Monkey Powers

Monkey, Piggy and Jim will marry soon
Surrounded by all their beloved goons
Where's Chris? Where's Jen?
Are they missing again?
And the cow jumped over the moon.

It's a very nice place. We went there for the first time this year. My husband had pesto pasta and I had tapas. Both were excellent. The owners are very gracious. I recommend it, too. Although, don't forget to check out Jambel Jerk Pit, too. Such good coconut curry (and don't forget to feed the cat! He's a real moocher! Knows how to work a table!).

It's not an insult. It means he works the room, talks with all the guests, does what it takes to "sell" the place. He's very nice, so is his wife, the chef.

Chris and Jen are the best. To know them is to love them. They're genuinely interested in travellers and in making sure their guests have a good time. Casa Picasso's menu is imaginative, fun, and a great value.
Besides, when's the last time your bartender wrote you a "pome?" Not a limerick...

Oh, no, not the smooze debate again!
At first I thought that it was a compliment, but now I am beginning to wonder... I don't have a lot of time to write as I am getting my leasure suit taylored after lunch. eek
No, I really do enjoy what I do, and as stated,I like listening to people. I also really, proudly feel that I am offering one of the best all-around dinners in San Pedro, and that makes me enthusiastic. Especially considering the company of fine restaurants on the island. ( Notice how he seamlessly compliments himself and other business owners, it's uncanny!! )
Plus now I get to tend bar, and to paraphrase Sir Bill Cosby, " <drinking> kids say the dardest things!!"

dbdoberman-
Piggy takes your good wishes and tosses back an "arf!" While people live happily on the island, our 4-legged pals don't always have it so good. We brought him back with us from San Pedro last March after nursing him back to health with the help of Dr. Bron. Yay Saga Society! Give them some money!

Pig really is the best dog ever. And while I realize there are plenty of strays in the States, Pig's got a laid-back Island Attitude I've yet to see on any little dog anywhere. Plus, gratitude oozed from his every pore (once we got the mange cleared up) and this gratitude manifested itself by NEVER once crapping in my house in San Pedro or Houston or St. Louis. He's sooooo cosmopolitan and extremely well travelled.

In other news, Jim and Stephanie are getting married on Labor Day in St. Louis. The honeymoon will be 2 weeks later to AC in celebration of Chris and Leya's nuptials. We can't wait to see our pals, the Eagers and the Aycocks, and will be bearing gifts of California Reds.

Anyway, moving back to St. Louis from San Pedro was one of the silliest things we ever did and in penance, I'm forced to lurk on this Board for the rest of my natural born days and poke Beachy with sticks.

Take care,
Stephanie

Hi Chris! Loved the tapas and my husband loved the pesto. And, thanks for the generous taste of your other pasta sauce. Keep on schmoozing! We appreciated your time. We'll be back!

Best Wishes Stephanie, Jim & Piggy! Thanks for sharing Piggy's story. How fortunate that you found each other. I am a supporter of Sega, they do a great job. I hope that they raise enough money to build the new facility. I fell in love with a stray pup when I was last in AC. SimonB is keeping an eye out for her, she has a home with me if located. If not, I hope she has found a good home.

Enjoy your honeymoon. Where else would you spend it after living there? This board is a fantastic way for keeping the AC vibe.

Happy trails to you all! smile

Second Dobbie re Saga. They do great work. If you can, sponsor a dog or two while you are there. They can use all the help they can get.

Best wishes to you and Jim, Stephanie. Whatever posessed you to leave SP? I would have to assume "circumstances beyond your control." No matter, best wishes to you.

Bobber,
Long story, man. We just had to go. Immigration was none too happy with us and I didn't want to spend a single evening counting roaches at the Hattieville lock-up. Just kidding.
Anyway, we're back in St. Louis and feeling kind of stupid. SP was so good to us but we just couldn't find a way to stay. The folks who owned the company we worked for (no names, no blame) wouldn't buck up for the permits, insisted there HAD to be another way, kept going through the motions with no real result. We should have just payed for residency our own dumb selves and kept on truckin' but alas we just didn't have the money. Again, we SHOULD have begged, borrowed, etc., whatever it took to stay.
So, I'm back in school working on my Masters (gonna be a librarian someday)Jim's got a job he likes schleppin' german automotive equipment and Piggy's in a version of dog heaven. We're all right. But, DAMN!, I miss the life and my good good friends. And you, Bobber. I bet you'll be back on the beach before I am.

Behind the Music: The piggy story

Brainwashed by their keen-minded dog, Piggy (if that is his real name) Jimbo and Steph decided that they needed to "see family more often" and such... a twisted ploy by one of the most twisted looking dogs (have you seen this animal?!!?) they decamped and returned to the midwest.
Piggy soon grew accustomed to the life, wearing sweaters and getting regular trips to petsmart,
unfeeling to the cruelnesshe was subjecting upon his hostage parents.

Playabees,
Just noticed Pig's mug on on of the SAGA boxes the other day, "...some stories don't have a happy ending...(tear)"
man yer missing things around here, we had Chris (bartender of Fido's/Cannibals) come in and spin house music last weekend, everyone was in attendence, there's more, but yer busy thinking about getting married, I bet. Ok, I just knew this topic would get your attention. PS
Jen has a birthday on Sunday
Beachy

playbees they like the sand
always singing with the band
slippy sloppy sun goes down and
playbees are on the town
making faces at the trees
monkey moons and silly strings
made this up for all who see
San Pedro is the place to be
