Lily's Restaurant on Front Street had great conch ceviche. We were there in Nov and kept going back for more. Don't know if it is in season but I sure hope so, we'll be there in May also.

We had the best conch ceviche we have ever had (and we always order it if available at restaurants) at Papi's last week. I agree, Lily's is also good.

So it sounds like we may be able to get it in a couple of weeks. It isn't going out of season is it?

Conch is in season until the end of June. Lobster season starts mid-June. Thanks goodness!

I'll let you in on a little secret... if you miss it at Papi's for lunch, or want it again for dinner..... come to Caribe Island. Irene (from Papi's) is our dinner cook....
But shhhh, don't tell anyone!

The palapa restaurant at Paradise Resort Hotel has the best I've ever had on AC. A wee bit spicy, if that is a problem. They close fairly early, so think lunch or very early dinner.

By far the best ceviche that we had on the island was on the day we chartered a boat with Guerrero's - Becho (sp?) and his son Becho took us out fishing in the morning. We caught a bunch of snapper of varying types and several Queen Triggers (too beautiful to eat - we threw those back), then we headed up to Bacalar Chico for some wonderful snorkeling. On the way we picked up a few conch off the bottom and Becho made us an outstanding ceviche. After a couple of hours of snorkeling, we headed in to the beach and Becho grilled up our snapper in this amazing sauce concoction of his and served it up with grilled potatoes and onions. It was the best day of our vacation (and that's saying a lot - we had a great vacation!!!).

Hey Molly, sounds like a great time. Do you know how to reach Guerrero. We are going the 13th of this month and that sounds like a trip we would like to do. Did you leave from San Pedro?
