With trepidation at the prospect of being nitpicky :p , my recollection is that proof = 2X % alcohol by volume. So 80 proof = 40% ABV, typical for most spirits. I think Pedro was talking %, not proof? makes more sense to me...
Rums will usually run 80 to 92 proof (40% to 46%), except for that evil 151 proof stuff
& at the other end are those disgusting flavored rums, which can be as low as 60 proof (Parrot Bay, eck), but then that's just me being a rum snob, to each his own. I never woulda gotten this way if I'd stayed in the midwest
lauried, you still need to know about availability of bacardi silver? (I'm guessing as they'll be imported, they'd price out like Bud, etc. = pricey)
Also wondering about stocking ice; I know inexpensive water filling stations exist in town, but what about ice? I tried a search last night & got 100s of msgs w/ words ending in -ice :rolleyes:
