how's that for convenience, toad?
gosh darn, I thought seashell was suggesting places to stay with a pool, and within walking distance of alot of restaurants, as George stated food could make the trip. Maybe she was putting quanity ahead of everything else.
Enjoy your trip, George!

George didn't specify whether he wanted in town or not, so maybe Seashell was just showing the flip side of the coin. If I was the one asking, I'd be grateful for the diverse opinions offered by *all* boarders.

Janet;
I would agree with you except we've had this argument on these forums with seashell before. Her thing is that anything more than 300 yards from the town center is somehow on another planet and shouldn't be considered.
And, regarding restaurants....the following are all closer to Banana Beach, Royal Palm and Caribe Island Resort than the town center: Casa Picasso El Divino (naturally) Tastes of Thailand Victoria House Restaurant (forgot about that one, their chef recently won a huge cuisine contest in Belize City) Pepperoni's Pizza Banyan Bay's Rico's
I would put Jade Garden (another San Pedro classic) equidistant from town center and Bananas/Royal Palm

I, for one, believes Seashell rules with her advice and restraint. I stayed at the AquaMarina Suites in April and the adjacent construction (not a hotel as I understand) was all daytime activities that were wrapped up by 4 PM, and did not bother me at all. I was within walking or staggering distance to all of San Pedro.
If you must choose between two evils, pick the one you've never tried before.

This might be a good time, to stop this verbal war.
Seashell as all of us, has the opportunity here to give their personal take on Ambergris and San Pedro. Readers can decide for themselves, whether the information suits their needs or not.
My personal take, many of you that live or have lived for long periods of time on Ambergris, are not as forth coming with good tourists information as repeat visitors.

Chloe;
All of San Pedro depends on tourism and repeat tourism for its living....the suggestion that because I live here my input is not as relevant as someone who doesn't is bonkers. The happier we who live here can make visitors to our island the better for all of us and that is MY agenda. I do not want people to come to Ambergris Caye with bad information.
Ticketgeorge;
Yes, we are MUCH friendlier in real life, but that is just my opinion. I hope and believe you will have the time of your life here on AC.

The people of Belize really are a friendly lot, in spite of the impression left by this message board. I for one don't feel qualified to advise on hotels since I haven't stayed an any here for the last 10 years.

TicketGeorge, These are not the Belizeans speaking. FYI Some of these folks live there, but most are visitors. You will enjoy your stay.
