Jesse, very good point, most that live in San Pedro do not stay in the hotels/resorts. When spends a week or two, in these wonderful hotels/resorts, certain know how great it is or isn't.

Chris, you are putting your words into my post, I did not say your input was not relevant. I said, your are not forth coming with information. You that live there, in most cases do not give any useful imformation that would help visitors. Most times posters that live in San Pedro, fuss at what Visitors post. So true, tourism is your money maker for all businesses on Ambergris. Why do you business people, tongue lash visitorsposters? You come across as very angry and unhappy.

Ticket, you will find the Belizeans to be very warm helpful and friendly. Just wish the local business people, that are not Belizeans would not be so critical, and argumentative.

I'm married to a born and bred San Pedrano Belizean and I am a Belizean too, albeit by naturalization. I have lived in Belize longer than most people on Ambergris Caye.

Chloe; Sorry I have to edit this post...yours came up as I was writing the original.
It is VERY important that accurate information be given to first time visitors to the island. I leave it at that.

Chris, you need a vacation from Ambergris, IMHO.
I think you are a nice man, but stressed now.

Chris, something is bothering you and it is showing up in your postings.

Oh dear Miss Anthropy -you should just come down and look after the animals(which some of us,honestly do appreciate)but let us look at the posts that have been made in the last few weeks, and there is a definite slant to ones nearer town(or indeed in town) by seashell-Chris is correct in his observations that various people come over as daily experts of SP-this is obviously incorrect(for the simple reason of 2 times two week vacations per annum means that for 48 weeks of the year they are somewhere else) and to accuse him of having a chip on his shoulder is showing a non- understanding of the english language-he like everyone else has an opinion but his should,in my opinion, have a lot more weight than people who come down here and stay for a short period of time-everyone who stays at a resort/hotel has and should write down their experiences(good or bad)but for someone who has spent little time here to act like a local travel agent is not worth listening to unles he/she has physically stayed in places that he/she is writing about.

Ernie I praised Toad when you promised never to come back to the board-now I have a major problem
1. I have praised and given Toad adulation
2.I am talking to you when you should not be here

Ok, Ticktgeorge food, pool & snorkeling are important. Nightlife? Short walk, longer walk, bicyle, golf cart, taxi ride or boat to/from town important to you? People have gone off the wall here and gotten really ugly with each other. Still consider myself a newbie as I've only been there the past 3 years and stayed at the same place which suits me fine but does not meet your criteria, Changes in Latitudes B&B(no pool-however there is one next door-Belize Yacht Club- that they will not run you out of.) I personally do not need a pool (have one at home) 0cean is fine but some prefer one.

Ok Chris, Pedro, Jesse & all others who are lucky enough to live there full time, you have a totally different perspective of San Pedro than the casual (1-2weeks a year) or first time visitor. No you don't stay in the hotels/resorts unless you own one & even then you don't see it in the same perspective as a guest. Let's lighten up & not tell people they SUCK. That's really sad and certainly not constructive or helpful to newcomers.

I've heard/read lots of good things about Alphonse but have personal experience with Tulu (Coral Beach Dock). Lots of great places to eat, I also like Jambel's. Blue Water Grill, BC's Sunday BBQ, El Divino & the list continues.

Let's not be UGLY to each other, just helpful in the only way each of us know how & really mean to be.

If you want to be in the right spot on the island, go to Exotic Caye, no construction and the perfect distance from everything. Go to Georges for breakfast.
