I think it's the other way around... 95% never get caught. eek

What I think is funny, is that people report there are xx percentage of crimes never reported... exactly how can they arrive at that percentage when no one reports the crime in the first place? I need to go lay down, my head is already spinning.

just a note, wes is one of a bazillion 'names' for a certain person, so he and his topics (this one too) will soon disappear.

he's just troublemaking with all this

I'm a bit confused as to where you are going with this Warren. Just what are you saying? Are you saying that people shouldn't consider AC a safe destination? Are you saying that we should all be so worried about it, that we stay away? Sign a petition? Take back the SP streets?

Certainly, I do agree with you that it is a sad state of affairs that one needs to be cautious. But such is life and regardless, how cautious does one need to be? For example, as you read, personally, I don't think it's very cautious to carry around wads of cash . . .anywhere. I get the impression that you think we should be doing something about the "crime wave" so that we can carry around wads of cash without compunction.

I reiterate, I'm not saying that I've always been that smart or that careful, however, smart and careful will *help* to keep a person safe most anywhere. Sometimes it doesn't matter how safe and careful a person is, bad things happen, no matter where that person may find themselves.

So what are you getting at Warren? Should we all just stay home with the doors locked and the windows barred? Then we'd all be safe and not have our head in the sand, ass up to Bubba, right? Help me out here, I need some clarity from you. Thanks.

Marty, certainly I've suspected that Wes was not all that he said he was (or more than he said he was, depending on perspective). Regardless, I don't see a problem with us discussing safety issues in SP and any expressions of concern. Potentially, Zoe is as real a person as are bywarren, Pedro1 and myself, and if so, appears to have a very real experience that should be shared.

i agree with that somewhat. the issues are valid. but when you pull the posts of a person they all go, and if they start a topic the topic goes.

such is life. this topic has been discussed before, and will again. the search function is readily available for all.

When you do a search on certain topics and the threads have been pulled, you still get the header coming up. However, when you try to open it, you get the message that the topic no longer exists. If someone searches on how safe is AC and happens to accidentally get the right search combo in place to pull up the thread header, isn't it going to look mighty odd that it got pulled?

Maybe it would be better to shut down the poster's ability to continue to post, rather than delete what's been posted so far. It's my view that *so far*, this poster/poseur/youngster? hasn't said anything *that* detrimental.

Hi Seashell, i hope you don't think I'm butting in here with your feelings about this, and I agree somewhat too, but the thing is here we all are, trying to share REAL experiences by REAL people and then someone comes along and purports to be myriad men, women, boys & girls, etc. who always end up just screwing with people who really want to share real stuff. It always gets weird and then he turns nasty and icky. And plus its just creepy with this one particular person who is using us all for a platform of his insane needs, starting weird topics of fake trips he's gonna take as a 17 year old guy one day, a gal from OK the next flooding each topic thread with delusional chat, and that is just such a waste of time. I don't speak for anyone but me of course, but who needs that kind of crapola when we are all REAL people who love the island and the country of Belize and want to provide insightful, factual and heartfelt opinions to folks who are planning a trip down?
