OK, clue me in. Does Dennis Wolfe have CDs available, and if so, where can I get them? I did a search on him and picked up some nice articles in the San Pedro Sun, but no mention of any CD.

Scubaldy,

Can you give us any info on the CD by Dennis Wolfe?

My Dad got the CD from Dennis down in San Pedro. You'll probably need to email Dennis or get someone to bring you one back. Or do down and see Dennis and get one there. Darn, another trip to San Pedro. wink

I love that JJW CD. That was our theme song the last few years "Come away to Belize with me" I hve several Jim Morris CDs as well, his earlier ones are mostly about the Florida Keys. Such as "Laid back and Key Wasted"

If you want other really good beach music, check out James "Sunny Jim" White's CDs. He sounds a lot like Buffett and has some fantastic original songs such as "Blame it on the Rum" which was actually featured in the movie the Firm as Sunny Jim used to work at the Hyatt on Grand Cayman for years until coming back stateside.

I've been a major Parrothead for years so started out listening to all the Buffett CDs. Buffett and Jerry Jeff are pretty tight as Buffett started out hanging with him way back in the 70s. So I discovered the Jerry Jeff CD through my Buffett travels. Also discovered a lot of other original artists through going to various Parrothead events, including Sunny Jim, Jim Morris, Scott Kirby, St Somewhere and a lot more.

Here is a link to a page which has links to a lot of those bands for those interested in discovering new vacation music.

Its actually a link from the national Parrothead web page of the various bands that play at the Key West convention this year. I had a bunch of CDs from those bands with me in Belize this year as I had a nice oceanfront room at Banana Beach so could put my CD player speakers on the balcony for some cool beach music!

Andrea,

If you were to buy only two Sunny Jim's which would they be?

I'm a bit short on cash since I've recently been listening to (and taking) gambling and investment advice from the Zekester.

I'd suggest starting with 'Life in the Laid Back Lane' and 'Sandbar Seranade'. They were two of the earliest he did when still in the Caymans. All of the CDs are great though as I have all 5!

JJW's The moon is still over her shoulder. Makes me cry, brings back memories of Joni. I first heard the album in 2000 when we got remarried in A/C. I'd put it right up there with all of Buffetts stuff and Marley's Legend. You just can't get any better.

I had a few extra Belize dollars at the international airport and went browsing in the gift shop. That's where I found the CD. On my last trip Dulce, Dennis' wife, told me I paid double what she sells them for.
So, as someone else suggested, go to the source!
Heck, I can usually find a round trip airfare from SF for about $500. Is that too much to pay for a CD? I think not; especially when you throw in the sun and sand for free.
