My husband and I stayed at the BB at Thanksgiving. We had a great stay. I can't say enough about the quality of the BB and the GREAT staff. We had the 3rd floor - north end corner room. Beautiful!!! Sitting out on the balcony overlooking the ocean!! Wish I was back there. Swimming pools very nice and even with the sea wall, swimming was still easy, usually off the docks on either side. It was nice having a restuarant right there but we didn't always eat there. We would rent a golf cart (right at BB through Monkey Business) and check out many places to eat in San Pedro. Renting a cart through Monkey Business is so easy and convenient. They also arranged for all snorkeling adventures. I don't know much about CV but you can't go wrong with BB. Barbara

It's a fact: Whether you (or just about anyone else) pick Banana Beach or Caribbean Villas you can't really go wrong...both are wonderful.

seashell I shared with matte76 my experience with banana beach ..he asked for opinions he stated he wanted budget!! and accomodations,so banana beach while not budget it does come close in price to that catagory it has a lot of bang for the buck .. and has wonderful value now if he stated only ocean view,he would probably not have combined the words ocean view ???and budget,but if that is the case he might sacrafice ocean view that for a premium resort ??? that have the facilities and amenities under one roof ..and a great owner /manager on property thats makes things happen ....the guest satisfaction posts wich are a lot seem like a good endorsement ??? been down to sanpedro 15 trips in a year and a half and love the Island and its fishing and wonderful people ..banana beach was real nice .he needs to see what makes him warm and fuzzy but picking out a resort is a tough decision at best ... we both know he will have a great time in sanpedro no matter what resort he picks !!!!!!!

Well, Capt. I haven't been down there as many times as you lately, it's true. And I'm not going to argue with you about whether or not Tim runs a good place, he does. That said, how many times have you stayed at Banana Beach? You used to really like AquaMarina.

However, when commenting on Banana Beach, I think it is important to mention that there are many suites that are *not* ocean view and that tourists may not be as overwhelmed with Banana Beach, *if* they end up with an interior suite.

Myself, I'd prefer to get the *total* lowdown on properties to which I was inquiring and have some sort of idea as to where the responding poster (in this case Capt. Jeff) was coming from.

I say, pick your place to stay as best you can before your first trip. All the places are at least good, if not great.

Second trip and you will take a second trip, then you will know which place you prefer. Belize It.

Capn' Jeff: See you in a few days!!!!

Gay and David;

Good news for you.....The new owner of Caribbean Villas is not a heartless developer....it will be a long time before anything new is built there...except, perhaps, a swimming pool! It will stay natural and beautiful for a long long time there. So, all bird watchers and lovers of peaceful vacation spots can rest easy.

Seashell: Are you implying that Banana Beach does not make it clear what kind of room you are booking when you book it? Are you saying that when guests book what is clearly marked as a courtyard suite they think they are getting an oceanfront suite? Or what is your point exactly? Take your pick, you're either saying that Tim doesn't tell his guests what class of room they have chosen or you're saying that guests who book Banana Beach are too stupid to know what they're getting.

Either way, you're out of order. Save your vicious sniping for those who deserve it.
