We had our wedding dinner at Capricorn a year and a half ago. I would choose, without a doubt, Victoria House. On a good night Capricorn has an unbeatable atmosphere but VH is consistently entirely professional and polished.

Happy Trails.

Cajunman - first let me say that I just received an unprompted apology email at my office from the owner of Casa Picassa - Chris Eager - which did impress me, as this was unsolicited! We will go back and give it a second try on his recommendation. Now to answer your question - YES, we love this type of food. Our salmon cake tapas had a very strong odor of being a little "off" and tasted the same. My husband and I each took one VERY small bite of one salmon cake - leaving 2/3 of that one, and a whole other salmon cake untouched - we were never asked if there was a problem - the waiter just whisked them away. Our other tapas was of the same quality. Our meals were just mediocre, if that. Again, we did not eat but a couple of bites of our food. Our waiter had two other tables in the entire restuarant - so it wasn't a case of being too busy to ask - he just hung out at the bar. We sat for quite a while, pouring our own wine, and waiting for a check. We finally had to flag him over from the bar to request a check. Again, no inquiry as to how our dinner was, etc. Our expectations are not ridiculous, and we were in no way rude or abrupt with the waiter. It was just an unfortunate experience. However, as I mentioned I am VERY impressed that the Owner does take concern over what happens in his establishment, and will be contacting him upon our next visit to San Pedro and we will give them another try - everyone has an off night!

My pick for the best dinner on the Island is El Divino's, great food and staff, good prices, and get this, Valet parking for your golf cart. Now where else can you get that??

nancyo - I ate at Casa Piccaso last year and Chris was "waiting tables" that evening. I didn't order much since I was watching my calories at that point, but what I had was very good. I suspect Chris wasn't even there that night because I don't believe he would have tollerated the situation you described. And he would have most certainly visited your table to say hello. So perhaps this was "When the boss is away the employees play"?

I do hope you give them a second chance if you return to AC.

We will definitely give them another try - as I mentioned, I was very impressed to receive the email from Chris. Obviously he wasn't there that evening (or at least when we were).
