Have to share my golf cart story. My huband, child and I were in AC last March. We wanted to get a gas cart but were unable to as they were all sold out. We got an electric one and drove very far south, came back, stopped at the Mayan Princess quick and then continued on to the area along the river where the hand ferry is. We parked and my husband and son got out. As I was sitting there I could smell wood burning. Just at that moment I looked down and realized it was my SEAT that was on fire! My husband lifted up the seat and the flames shot up. The battery was on fire. Luckily some very nice local boys appeared out of no where with buckets of water and they managed to put it out. The wood that I smelled burning was the seat frame. To make the story even more interesting a very nice gentleman called Raoul drove us back to the hotel in his mattress delivery truck......sooooo you might want to consider the gas cart!
It turns out the connections were loose and that is how they caught on fire. Luckily we have a sense of humor and no one was hurt.
