Mar de Tumbo has always been the beach of choice for locals. Before the resorts were there it was a popular area for locals to picnic and spend their Sunday afternoons. Banyan Bay has a very nice well groomed beach. I also like Caribe Island we have had friends stay their often and they love it. It is a bit further south but don't think that is a real problem since they can arrange transport into town for you. For the money I think it is one of the best facilities around.

On a relative rating, I would have to concur...except for the sea wall...and given the fact that if you walked about 50 yards north, it is really pretty good.
