woo Hoo! I can finally add to this post! We just got back and stayed at Xanadu. DEFINITELY THE BEST PLACE!!!!!! It was perfect! Far enough from town for us to feel that we had privacy, but close enough to walk to bike in to get something to eat. The pool is beautiful- we spent a lot of time veggie and I fel in love with their hammock. Each night when we got back from dinner or drinks we went for a swim... just floating looking up at the moon. Perfect. Our room was big and clean. We had everything we needed and the shower was huge so we could both fit in there.... added bonus! The people at Xanadu were so helpful and organized all our tours and trips. I really don't have one bad thing to say about it.
We walked around Ramon's and ate there- it is better is you are looking to be 'in' the action. When we were there there were a lot of people following some singer- sang the same song loudly over and over (sorry if you are here!). People were constantly crossing in front of the resort on the beach too... less down at Xanadu. And the dive shop kind of blocked the view at Ramon's. Our favorite part of the day was first thing in the morning at Xanadu- we made coffee (each room ahs a full kitchen) and walked down to the end of the pier (dock?) to sit and wake up. There was no one around.

My family and I loved Xanadu. Lupe was the best and she did everything to make our stay enjoyable April 9th until April 16, 2005. We enjoyed having coffee on our expansive deck, overlooking the pool. I woke early every morning just to lie in the hammock and listen to the birds. Our son loved his loft room and the spiral staircase to get there. We do not have one complaint about our week at Xanadu. I just wish we had more time to spend there. We were late getting to the airport because I couldn't get my husband out of the hammock on our deck. He kept telling me he was not leaving!

If someone says they don't care for a certain property and give their reasons, it sure seems to stir up controversy on this board. With all due respect, slander it is not. Unless it is an outright (spoken) misrepresentation (or lie), intended to discredit an individual or business and then causes harm, it is only an opinion.

Since I have never stayed at either place, I cannot comment, but I will be staying at Xanadu next week. I have stayed at other places and some I liked, some not so much. Various reasons.

Whether staying at Ramones or not, definitely snorkel off their pier. It is awesome!
