SIN that was an interesting and well observed post. I do know that one or two of the resorts inland advertise that they offer nude and partially clothed holidays, so these may be good places to do the booby thing. If it is not a crime, you are in a place that can't be easily over looked and you have checked with anyone who may see a nip or two that they won't be offended, I can't see the problem. That said, my own boobies have been hidden from the sun for so long that I daren't risk the sunburn. Roast breast is great on a chicken, not so fun on a person.

Missy1, Diane Campbell lives on the island and has for many years. If you didn't want to hear anything but what you wanted to hear, why did you bother to ask the question? Even though SIN lives on the island too, Diane is right on the button.

It is apparent that you are going to do whatever you want to do. Once you arrive at your "resort", decide for yourself (which you are going to do anyway).

I've seen several women sunbathing topless in front of the Mayan Princess. The kids were too busy having a good time to pay any attention, and the adults that were watching the kids from the beach didn't seem the least bit concerned.

Missy, since you're are only interested in the legal aspect of sunning yourself topless you've got your answer. However, as a guest of this country, one would hope you would be considerate of their feelings/customs. Given that many if not most Belizean women would NOT appear in public/on a beach in a swim suit, I can assure you they most certainly would not go topless. Belize is not like many of the other island countries in the Caribbean in that aspect. As for Placencia, it would be even more offensive to do so there--it is even more traditional Belize - if you are staying at a resort farther north on AC(as in not in town), you can probably get away with it, but given the foot traffic of locals, children, etc. on the beaches in town, I guess I just think it would not be the best thing to do. And Missy once you get acquainted with some of the locals, you're going to fall in love with them and probably wouldn't want to do anything that may offend them - I know that sounds sappy, but some of my most treasured friends in the world live on that island and I would never want them to think less of me because I insisted on things being the way I, as a foreigner, think they should be. Have a great trip!

Missy: Personally, I wouldn't go topless in Belize (Jamaica is a much better place for that). There is a time and place for things. I guess if you can find a secluded beach, maybe it would be okay. Otherwise, along with the locals, there are families with children on the beach and that isn't cool.
