Just because someone is a lawyer does not make them subhuman.
To get back there would require trying to walk through tons of mud and debris.
If it were easy, we would have gotten someone to do it by now. Its simply unsafe to go.

Also, many SanPedranos do not call out to the states to say they are ok, because their family is with them. Thus it is harder to get word of some folks. There is simply no possible way to have information on everyone in the phone book within 7 days of a hurricane.

We all know Nellie well....she's a nice lady and very intelligent. I don't think Bill meant to insult Nellie. Frustrations are high right now....
Bill I'm sure your friends are safe. Somebody here would have checked on them by now. The whole community has been looking out for each other. It was obvious this morning that I would not have been able to get back there. Sorry Bud....

well, not to put 'badmouth' on Nellie, but I remember when the architect's office was on fire, and she didn't want to let anyone besides herself get their clothes out...nice lady, but tends to get a bit panicky under pressure, if we speak of the same person.
Be that as it may, I'm still trying to get word on Ann McClaun. She is friends with the people that own that decrepit hotel next to Alijua and Tarzan's with the domed bait/T-shirt shop; She may or may not still be down there, but if anyone knows I'd appreciate a shout out...she was damned nice to me while I was there.

You guys will have to forgive me as I haven't lived here long enough to know everybody...at least not by name. I recognise a lot just by face. When asking about people it will help if you give details about the person like Daemyon mentioned. Give me an area or a detail to start from.

Since the Boatyard was pretty well destroyed, I had a question about Robert and his wife; you know them, the young couple that came in about this time last fall. He was shaved-bald, 30'ish worked for Tom as a mechanic; she was pretty, blonde and worked part-time as a bartender for the Boatyard on Wed. nights...they lived right on the beach next to Casino Harry's old house. He is one of the few certified mechanics on the island, so I just wondered...nice folks, too.

Amy Brown is in the States and has been for over a month. She's on an extended holiday. Robert and wife are fine. Wife went back to the States (don't know where), but I saw Robert yesterday (Tuesday) and he is working hard helping lots of folks and re-grouping.
