Climbing ruins & trekking thru a hot jungle dehydrating yourself ( which is why he does what he does with the water available all through your expedition) is only intensified by imbibing in adult beverages which dehydrate one even more. H2O is the way to go, then kick back & relax with the good stuff when you are done.

and yes, JP has beverages available for purchase.

Phyllis&Ray, I assure you I'm not "high and mighty" and I'm plenty light. I was only telling you Daniels' policy and why, not judging your actions. Don't shoot the messenger! Drink all ya want. Doesn't matter to me. The high temple is a pretty good climb with the temps and humidity near 100.

I _never_ drink alcohol unless I want to get a little tipsy. Seems to me that that's the whole point. Am I wrong confused

Again, for some drinking just means getting drunk. For others savoring a good glass of wine or sampling the flavors of microbrews is enjoyment like a good meal. I too know the importance of hydrating when it's warm, we are avid hikers, bikers and kayakers. But that doesn't mean I still don't pack a few brews to enjoy as well. That's not to say I won't over indulge a tad at Wet Willie's on Wednesday night !! After all we are from Wisconsin!
Sorry if I seemed rude, I just don't like to be judged.
And am looking forward to trying a dirty banana, any suggestion who makes the best??

Ah, I see what you mean. But I get tipsy on a glass of wine or beer (I _love_ good beer) I'm a very cheap date laugh

...and no need to be defensive. I didn't think you were rude at all, just frustrated from trying to make your point. It's all good cool
