It is with profound sadness that the Belize Fisheries Department announces the passing of our colleague and dear friend, Mrs.Vivian Belisle Ramnarace, Fisheries Officer on Sunday, 15th January, 2023.
Mrs. Belisle Ramnarace began her journey at the Fisheries Department in November of 2007. In these more than 15 years, she has been integral to the work that the Department does. She was a dedicated, knowledgeable, hard working professional with a vast network and a keenness to get the work done well.
We are heartbroken Viv. Your work family will miss you deeply. We were lucky to know you, to learn with and from you. Your legacy will live on in your beloved daughter and in your work. We will always remember you - your smile, your friendliness, your warrior spirit and the love you had for your family and friends.
We extend our most sincere condolences to her beloved little daughter, her Mom, her Dad, her Siblings, and all her family and friends.

Oceana mourns the passing of Vivian Belisle Ramnarace - a daughter, mother, wife and friend, whose dedication to the sea, saw her as a Fisheries Officer at the Belize Fisheries Department for more than a decade, and an active participant and focal point on many national and international marine conservation committees.
Vivian was warm, kind, smart and a woman fully-alive. Her passing is a significant loss for the conservation community in Belize.
As we commemorate her life, work and legacy, we mourn alongside her family, friends and colleagues.
This is particularly a difficult and painful time for the family. We continue to pray and extend to all who knew and loved Vivian, Jon and Mikey, our heartfelt condolences and offer courage and strength to bear this irreparable loss.
