Awesome musician and long time friend of San Pedro... He was a great entertainer and had a studio in San Pedro.
JOHN HILL OBITUARY
HILL, John Warren "Jake" Formerly of Boston, Nashville, San Antonio and San Pedro, Belize, passed away, on Saturday morning, January 28, 2023, after a battle with cancer. Jake touched many lives and hearts with his passion for music and love of life. He was born in Boston on June 10, 1959. A graduate of St. Paul's Choir School, Cambridge MA, he mastered liturgical music, classical music and his love of rock and roll. He was the choir director at the Church of the Resurrection in Hingham, MA. He then moved to San Antonio to be the choir director at St. George Episcopal Church, St. Luke's Episcopal Church and Christ Episcopal Church. He expanded his presence as a studio musician when he moved to Nashville. In his spare time, he won the National Jazz and Blues award for 2012 as pianist of the year and was the finalist in the 2012 International Blues Challenge Solo Artist in Memphis. Since he wanted to be warm, his last years were spent in retirement on the island of San Pedro, Belize. Jake is survived by his brothers, Joseph Hill and Albert Hill; sister, Margaret Tito; and former wife, Amy Waller Hill. He is predeceased by mother, Catherine Hill; father, Albert Hill; brother, William Hill; and sisters, Catherine Woodfin and Frances Hill. There are many more friends who loved Jake, but there are too many to mention here. Jake will be missed by many but we all will carry his love and passion.
