My wife and I just returned from our first trip to AC. We have been to just about every Island in the Caribbean and have been approached to buy weed on probably half of them. (And I think we look very conservative.) You can quickly find dealers while taking a walk down the main street in any of the US VI or Hawaii islands. I was even approached once in Disneyland. To San Pedro's credit the only time I was aware of drug dealers was on the 8th day of our 10 day visit while driving South past the airport in our golf cart when a guy walking the other way said in a loud voice, as though he was having a conversation with someone else, "Hashish." Surprisingly, I had to explain to my wife what Hash is. :-)
I think this was a great original post. It gave new meaning to the term "buyer beware." We never experienced any mbira's other complaints. The dogs around our area were quiet but we were woke up a couple mornings because of howling cats. (Sadly the loose dog situation is a little out of control) The only discourteous people we encountered were very rude US citizens on vacation. "20 Somethings" in Fido's and families with young spoiled children touching the soft coral during the dive. Hopefully they were only in AC because Cancun isn't up and running and they will go back to Cancun next year when we go back to AC.
