Club Car has a line of utility vehicles out now with the designation XRT. They have a kubota diesel engine and a rust proof corrosion resistant aircraft grade aluminum frame. It would be interesting to see how it held up in the long run down their. From a materials of construction standpoint it should have a good chance of survival but I do not know from a reliabilty standpoint (is it tough enough to handle SP roads). I own a trans mule that has over 800 hours on it in the states and it spends a lot of time in the mud and has held up well. The difference is I do not have to contend with sand and salt.
