"Considering that property owners are paying nothing in terms of property taxes" ...depends. I pay $300US a year property tax for my condo (not very much) but then our HOA helps pay for the grading between Grand Caribe and Reef Village.

But, what about the $900US a year I pay in bridge passes...isn't that a tax?

I don't accept that we have to do all of this ourselves...there is no reason Central Government can't get a paved road going between the bridge and Las Terrazas. But, just as we had to pressure government to build the road from Distributers to Victoria House so we will have to do the same for a road north.

I will vote to chip in on Capt. Hollywoods temporary fix and I agree that it does not need to be a 10 year thing...we can get the road paved well before that.

Keep your eyes on the big prize: PAVED ROAD = NO BIKES AND MOTORBIKES ON THE BEACH. EVER. It means much higher property values, access to emergency services, less complaints from your guests and of course it means some very happy Momma and Pappy Sea Turtles.
