When I first saw the original post I was going to post something along the lines of - it's private property and if they want to keep it private it's their prerogative. Now I find out more about the story I find it pretty distasteful that someone would try and create bad publicity for a resort when their own resort is implementing the exact same rules. You really should be ashamed, your own resort has had enough negative publicity and I would have thought you would have learned from that.

I remember another resort many years ago used to allow visitors to use their pool but had to stop after it was splashed up on the message board as an answer to a question (probably by me). Their own guests were being pushed out of the pool area because so many non-guests were showing up. It was only a short while after the information got around that the pool became guests only. That's probably the same reason Barrier Reef Resort (not Residences) has decided to have a no visitors policy when in the past it used to be open to the public.
