You will need to be here in person to apply for your child's student visa. I haven't checked to see if you need to be enrolled and then need to provide the student visa or if you need the student visa and then apply for enrollment. But regardless you will need to be here to do this. The parents will need to apply for the visa and once received the child will need to apply for a Belizean social security card. The student visa allows the child to reside in Belize for one year whilst enrolled and attending school. You can get the student visa at the immigration office in San Pedro and you must get a student visa regardless of whether your student attends a public or private school. The parents must have some form of legal residency also.

Tourists cannot typically enroll and attend schools as this is a disruption for the student body and the school in general.

What you may be able to achieve is seeing if some of the schools can accommodate your child during sport and arts lessons or after school activities.

The Belizean school system is actually fairly rigid and the budgets are very tight and expectations and pressures on the students and teachers is high and constant.
