General Situation:
Ambergris Caye: Conditions this morning by Elbert just before or after this post!
Belize NMS:
Present Condition: Mostly cloudy throughout the country, including in San Pedro. Hurricane Grace continues to influence our weather as its center moves over the Yucatan area.
Advisories: A small craft warning is in effect for large, dangerous waves and rough seas. Small crafts should remain in safe harbor. Flood watch: Residents are advised to be on the alert for possible flooding in low-lying and flood prone areas during the next few days.

For Friday and Friday night is for cloudy to overcast skies, along with a few showers, isolated thunderstorms, and periods of rain, once again increasing in the night.
Sargassum Forecast from August 17 to August 25:
Satellite imagery suggests that sargassum concentration has decreased slightly over the area. However, there is a low to medium chance of additional sargassum mats drifting into the area during the next few days. San Pedro has a medium probability and a moderate impact.
Tropical Weather Outlook:
At 3:45am Hurricane Grace was located near latitude 20.1N, longitude 87.5W, or about 10 miles south of Tulum, Mexico. Tropical Storm Henri was located near latitude 29.5N, longitude 69.5W, or about 525 miles SE of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.

depression near 19.7N 100.1W Sat afternoon, and dissipate Sun
morning. Otherwise, moderate to fresh trade winds will dominate
elsewhere, except for locally fresh to strong winds in the Gulf of
Honduras and south-central Caribbean through tonight.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
GRACE MAKES LANDFALL ALONG THE EASTERN YUCATAN PENINSULA OF MEXICO NEAR TULUM
Satellite images and radar data from Belize indicate that Hurricane Grace made landfall along the eastern Yucatan Peninsula around 4:45 a.m. CDT just south of Tulum, Mexico.
A Weatherflow station at Xcaret Park near Playa del Carmen, Mexico, recently measured a sustained wind of 60 mph (97 km/h) and a gust to 85 mph (137 km/h). Another Weatherflow station located at Cancun, Mexico, recently measured a sustained wind of 59 mph (95 km/h) and a gust to 80 mph (129 km/h), while the Weatherflow site located at Puerto Morelos, Mexico, recently measured a sustained wind of 51 mph (83 km/h) a gust to 70 mph (113 km/h). On Cozumel, a sustained wind of 41 mph (66 km/h) and a gust to 68 mph (109 km/h) was observed at the Cozumel Lighthouse.
We are also watching a few tropical waves, either across the tropical Atlantic or emerging off the African coast this week, but development with these seems unlikely at this time.
