Just a little insight on the gossip thing... if you are in AC or Belize mainland the gossip is most brutal if you are hanging with a local guy. If you are with someone from the states it doesn't seem to be a big deal. The local women can be hostile if they think you might threaten thier relationships. I found out they actually do rituals to prevent their man from straying.
