I am cringing at the cost of the golf carts to use since we are looking at being 1.5 miles from town at the Bananna Beach. Are there Mopeds or is a bike ride do-able in the dark after a few drinks and dinner....Not a big drinker just one with dinner...

the walk to town from banana beach is only 20 minutes, it is a nice walk, beautiful weather this time of year. Just walk it.

1goldstar, if this is your 1st visit, ya really need to rent a golfcart for at least at day so you can go exploring up north (do a rent 1 day, return the next deal) which you can then use for 1 evening at least. There are some restaurants down your way, very good ones, that are more easily walkable back to BB. And yes, you could ride a bike, but an easier option is to just get a taxi to take you into town and bring you back - they're only $6BZE (if that price is no longer correct I'm sure SOMEONE will say so) which is cheap. Besides, some of the taxi rides down there are an experience in themselves! I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about it now, once you get down there, you'll slow down, enjoy and everything will work out. Plus you'll have a GREAT TIME!

$10 BZE now DB, but still cheap. I'd forget the bikes at night, unless you have a death wish.

Stayed at B.B. last July and rented bikes, rode back from town at night, you will need a flash light, but can be done. Lots of cars, golf carts, bikes, dogs but an adventure.Enjoy

A taxi is a wonderful idea....I just love this site! Will it be hard to find on at night? One day golf cart rental for sightseeing is a for sure thing. I imagine you can bring them on the hand ferry up north.
Thanks all!

Taxies are easy to find, they a mostly vans, just wave one down. Yes your golf cart will go on the ferry to go to the north end. It is worth the trip. Nice resturants, bars up there to kick back. Not as much traffic as in town.

From what I recall, the taxis got more expensive the later it got! Can't remember exact prices, but remember going from DT San Pedro back to Exotic Caye for double the cost of the first trip one late evening wink

1.5 mi is nothing on foot, and a beautiful walk on the beach - you'll get to see a lot of stuff you would miss in a golf cart!

How much to rent the golf carts? This is something I never thought to look into.
