I don't want an argument, but wouldn't it be more likely that I would be suited to the all inclusives in Cancun if I had all kinds of $ and didn't care about cutting corners where possible? Vivre la difference.

klcman; where we live "you can't get there from here". This time it was $700 from Hartford, plus the flight to SP.

Maybe bringing in liquor sounds cheap, but it's called prioritizing. :-)

Your priority should be to just get here and have a good time and not worry about a few dollars for a drink or two!!

I was on Mediterranean Cruise one time and saw a fellow passanger carry on two cases of Coke Cola. Seemed a bit over the top considering what he had spent to take the vacation. But, to each his own.
There is or was last trip down a new Wine store down by Aqua Marine Suites. Seemed to have a pretty large selection. I bought some wine, but do not know enough to know if it was good. Never heard of anyone not having enough to drink in SP, but perhaps some folks need something special. I personaly get high off the sand!!!! oh and the dust wink cool laugh

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain.

Cautiously, I must agree with Peter here. Personally, I love a good small-batch whisky. But when I go to SP, I can't get it (or much comparable) but never complain--at least so much that I'm reprimanded for it.

Why in the world would one bother?

Normally, I do not read all the posts, but this one intreaged me. I am sitting here drinking coffee and trying to wake up, so I am reading.
Friends are having a going away pary for us, and the subject came up "what are we suppose to do with all those bottles people give us??" Then my brain remember a message heading about "briging in liquore". I came home, searched for that heading and this is where I am now.
After reading this subject, and others today, I realize again, why I am not compelled to respond to this message board more often. Marty I commend you for what you are doing. Belize needs people like you, but some regular members are giving us newer members negitive vibes....all this bitching, and trying to see who can out top the other. If I were searching for fair info on a place or establishment, I certainly wouldn't get it from the small number of small-minded negitive members who chose to insert their big negitive mouth into every subject. So the last I have to say on this subject, is, Marty, how about opening a room for "Bitch Sessions", with the remaining space left, available to those who want to contribute in an educational manor, and BRING TOURISM to Belize, not re-route it to Cancun!!
Now about bringing in liquore, never had the desire or need to do it before, but we do drink an unsusal brand of rum and beer, that is not quickly excessable in our area.
After 12 hours of being awake from our home in the US to SP,it is about 1:30 by the time we land at the airstrip. Another hour later we have setteld into our apartment, while unpacking and such, we realize we are now pooped! Way, way to tired to go out for a drink. Drink must come to us!! That my friends is the only way I would consider bringing in liquore, that and a going away party.
To Marty and the positive ones I say.. see you there! RAS SAFARI SAN PEDRO cool

There is something called the General Chat Area, if those of us who comment on a regular basis could stick to the subject matter at hand (I'm just as guilty as anyone) and use the General Chat Area for "Bitch 'n Whine" sessions, the board (and those who use it as a reference) would be much better off.

Chill out, pour a glass of Islay Single Malt, a nice Chardonnay, a Belikin or roll a great big Belizean doobie. It's time for another group hug.
