I am coming to SP for the first time on Friday and absolutely can not wait. This board has been extremely helpful and has given me all the info need for a great relaxing vacation. Now hopefully we'll chase a big tarpon.

I do however have one last question. How is the water to drink on SP. Do you need to stick to bottled H20? Any need to worry about ice in drinks? Don't want to get Monetezuma's revenge.

Never had a problem from filling water bottles from hotel taps. Good hunting!!

Depends on whether or not you're hotel is on a well or on town water. Both taste bad but town water is fine to drink. I personally don't drink well water even after being here for 5 years.

BTW the water in Placencia is the best I've tasted anywhere, piped in straight from the mountains.
