Off to sleep for at least a few hours. A few stores are supposively open from 7-9am tomorrow so long as winds are not too heavy. I can't believe 9000 people evacuted the island, this feels crazy. It is 1am and after the guys boarded up my front window and I talked to some local friends who evacuated late today it feels real now. I was told that the power is scheduled to be shut off at noon tomorrow to avoid electric problems. None of us here will be able to update what is happening on the island once it's off. Crazy day at the stores with people preparing. Karmin and I have positive thoughts and love you all at home who have this web link.

KE: Looking at the storm path it looks like it will miss, however these things are unpredictable. Better safe then sorry. Take what precautions you can at this time. I am guessing evacuation in the morning will be out of the question by water, leaving only the opportunity by plane if the service is still running in the morning.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and everyone else that is being diseffected by Emily.

Good luck!

Thanks, Scott. I appreciated your message. Yes, can not evacuate today and couldn't anyways. I have my labrador, Karmin with me and no pets can evacuate as they need to get as many people out as possible. My dog was stressed out last night. 6:32am Sunday and I am looking out my back and side windows which did not get boarded up, pretty calm right now, and not too windy yet. I am going to stock up on water at 7am as I assume a few stores will be open like they said.

It's 9am Sunday morning. Bright sunny skies, a nice breeze and it's really deserted here! There are a few places open and everyone here is hoping we get outa this with maybe just a little wind and rain. Then we just have to hope that the electric we get from Mexico doesn't stay off for weeks!
