Some of the wines look interesting - champagne (French vintage is being shipped to our hotel in Playa. We collect old and rare vintage French champagnes. We're toured the region & have our selective favorites. Thanks for your posts - sure we'll fine something to please our palates.

I have to agree the pricies are very high esp. when we go to our local Costco buying some of these wines for very good discounted prices w/exception of a few. Wish our friend who is a winemaker could ship us a case - ha! customs would get us - we'll bring in our two and drink the run punch. I do like the Chilean wines.

I absolutely agree with you. Their California wine selection's are definitely bottom shelf and I am not a wine snob!

If only Trader Joe's or Costco would venture into unknown places like the Caye - Costco had some dynamite Italian wines like Montipucano (misp) which is a favorite - it's the one Italian wine that I do know. The Trimbach Riesling is the only French Riesling I'm familar with surprising their are no Alsatian wines except for this Riesling. We've toured this area exclusively - love their wines esp. Gustuz Lorentz & Marcell Deiss.

Well if Trader Joes came to Cayes, then they would be stuck with the 2 buck chuck...Charles Shaw.

Move over California - Oregon is now growing GREAT Pinot Noir! Look how long it took for wine snobs to even discover California wines. Remember when the 'only good wines' were from France.
Didn't I see Inglenook on the list? That used to be in Napa Valley; did they move?
Venture out - and remember - "If you drink a lot of wine you drink a lot."

I would rather die than drink this - it's not worth cooking with. Barff! Truly, Trader Joe's has some fine wines along with Costco's. Have to know what to buy.

How about Encinada, Mexico! There are a few of our Calif. winemakers who have relocated or else bought acres for grapes - I was amazed that this area is rapidly growing. Oregon makes some great Pinot Noir's. There's even vineyards in New Mexico.

And we even have wineries in Arizona! California, Oregon or Arizona, I just prefer wines that are not mast produced and rather prefer smaller vintages.
