The labor costs (on some holidays) are phenominal,so its often not profitable to be open.

I believe that there's no alcohol served from midnight to 6pm on Good Friday. That's what I remember from being there last year...we were the only people in Big Daddy's around 11pm on Holy thursday!

On the flip side- those who live life right have the luxury of taking the holidays off!

Just a FYI story..WE went to a border town,(Acuna)during the hurricane evecuation of Hurricane Rita only to find, after a $20.00 ride across the border into Mexico,that everyone was closed due to Presidential elections!!Then we paid 20.00to get us back to our parked car...never even had a chance to buy booze or crap...No one told us before we spent that$40.00 US for nothing... Just Laughed across the border..Sucks at times..

If you are concerned about closings at Easter, I would check closely as a few of Latin/Catholic communities always shut down and no alchol is served during Lent, but I think SP is always ready..

Just got back fron SP. We where there election day and went to Estel's for lunch. Nothing until 6:00pm. Charles told us the only other time is Easter Sunday.
