I would definitely make a reservation - you can do that on line. I would not just show up and expect a seat. There are two airlines - Tropic and Mayan and like so many other things here instead of staggered departure times they both fly the same schedule. Go figure?

About how long does it take to get through customs? In other words, how much of a layover should I give myself between the time my flight arrives in Belize City and the time I would leave for San Pedro?

For the return trip, how early do I need to be at the international airport?

New to the board and still tryin to get through all the info here. I'll be down there from 06/20-28th for some diving.

Anyone have any info on:

1. The weather right now and how it affects the diving?
2. The Playa Blanca Dive and Beach Club?
3. Cost of cigarettes?
4. General tips from some veterans

I'm pretty well traveled, but......... every place is a little different.

3. You probably want to bring your own cigarettes; I believe they're expensive. But, a more important consideration is that they don't appear to have the brands you may be familiar with. Other's may be able to comment on the 'taste' aspect of these other brands; I don't smoke enough to know one from another.

American cigarettes (ie: Marlboro regulars) about $75 BZ or more per carton. No 100's available. Not much choice. Belizian cigarettes are okay, not great, IMHO, but cost a lot less.
